Video Project Review: Goodfellas "Funny Guy Scene"

13 years ago, my friend and I thought it would be really funny to re-enact a scene from the movie Goodfellas. We both loved the movie, and jokes were always made about me "looking Italian". My friend ended up dropping out, but I ended up remembering his lines, so I said what the hell, let me just do both parts. At this point in my life I had been editing video on a program called Windows Movie Maker. I just wanted to shoot anything I could to practice my editing, although, I never thought in a million years that I could do any of this professionally.

My Re-enactment (I just threw this shirt and tie away a week ago.)

What resulted was what you would expect. A low production clip with okay acting at best. I added this random person laughing as a sound effect to fill in the empty air. You can see the camera wiggling on the table as I was really animated during this "scene".

This did however motivate me to continue making these clips. My family seemed to really enjoy them so I continued doing a couple of monologues and scenes from other movies.

I do think I will be redoing this clip with other actors and with better production value in the near future. These early videos were a guilty pleasure of mine.
